Hey Dracoflame, sorry for the late response. I very rarely go on newgrounds. If you wanna exchange discord links, I'll be able to give you feedback sooner than on Newgrounds ( møsstar#2434 if you want :) ).

The intro is really cool. I can really see the hinkik inspiration, you're really good at this style :). Having sidechain when there are no drums is fine sometimes but in this context, I think it would sound so much better with the sidechain removed.

For the buildup it sounds pretty good as is.

I don't have much to say about the drop. It already sounds really good as is. Some more percussion would sound nice, and a punchier snare. As for the melody, it sounds really good, it makes me feel nostalgic. One thing I would avoid is fadeouts because most of the time that's just disappointing for the listener.

I don't have anything to say about the break. Aside from the sidechain and the snare, it's really good. I really like the introduction of the main melody and how the 2nd drop just hits. Omg, that key change is so good.

Nothing to say about the outro, I love everything about it.

Overall I think you're really talented considering you just turned 15 when you made this track. Looking forward to seeing what you become in the future :).

Btw you inspired me to start uploading music again with this song, so thank you so much for that.

Dracoflame responds:

Thank you so much for the response! It's been a while, my friend. :)
Yeah, this is potentially the best song I've released yet... a lot of people think so, ever with newer tracks such as Illuminate, Aecor, and Blizzard (not on Newgrounds yet). I do really like the melody. It's probably the best one I've come up with so far!
Thanks again for the kind words. <3

Sorry if my feedback is shitty, this is my first time giving a detailed feedback and it's also really late as I'm writing this.

Love the orchestral part in the intro. The rain ambiance sounds fit really well. Strings sound really good but could have another layer that's an octave lower. This makes the strings sound more full (If that makes any sense). The piano chords sound really cool but the piano itself sounds a bit dry and could use some multi-band compression (a free multi-band compressor plugin I recommend is ott. Try not to overuse this effect too much tho :) ).

The drop chords / melody is really cool. Adding sweeps and automating filter cutoffs on synths during the buildup is a great way to add tension. The kick in the drop is a bit loud in the drop compared to the melody and globally compared to the rest of the drop, you can turn it down a little bit. The kick seems to be a bit short and has a loud transient, sounds more like the type of kick I would use in a dark psytrance track. The snare sounds a bit weak as well, I recommend layering it and adding a bit of reverb. Try to pitch the sub an octave down and saturate it a bit if you can't hear it well, try not to over do the saturation because if it doesn't work then just put it back an octave higher. I also think a fat ass saw bass would sound really sick.

Love the guitar melody in the break. I recommend changing the velocity to make it sound more realistic. The guitar is a bit dry and needs some multi-band compression The strings are damn good too, what plugin did you use, I'm really curious. I also love the Avicii style riser in the buildup to the 2nd drop.

Don't have much to say for the outro other than it sounds really good, love the bell melody and the strings :).

Overall I really like your combination of orchestral and progressive house :).

Don't hesitate to send me your tracks for feedback because I love helping other producers ^^

Dracoflame responds:

Hi, Mosster! Long time no see! 👋
I totally agree with everything you've put down here! Your feedback is amazing! 💖
The intro was supposed to give off a sort of sad yet enlightening vibe. I did add another layer of strings, but it was two octaves lower, actually, so they didn't really get the volume I wanted. As for the piano, I get where you're coming from, but to be honest, any more wetness would have sounded too wet, in my opinion, so I just kept it as is.
The variation in the drop melody was inspired by my second drop melody variation from Fifteen. I wanted something with the same vibe, yet something more dynamic and catchy. I could have used more FX, though (e.g. risers, impacts, sweeps), and I've still got a long way to go until I perfect my percussion, but it's my bass that suffered most of all. A fat saw would've helped a LOT, but it still wouldn't've made up for the fact that there's no sub, and I only have my old cheap earbuds to blame for that. 😅
The guitar in the break was really just another way I could spice things up and add some variety. I didn't really intend for it to sound very realistic, to be honest, but looking back, that would've been nice. The strings are actually the default solo strings in FL. Go to Packs -> Instruments -> Strings, and you should find it. 💙
As for my combination of orchestral, melodic, and progressive house, I've been calling it Draco House (guess why), and I'm planning to use it more in the future!
Thanks so much for all your feedback, my friend! If you want to give more feedback, why not try my track, Fifteen? https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1116591
See ya later! ✌

YOOOOOO THIS IS SICKKKK!!!

Dracoflame responds:

Thx so much, dude! That really means a lot. 💘
